The great vacation debate: “Pool or Beach”
Despite my many years working in the finest resort properties in the world, I still enjoy this playful debate between pool and beach ‘people’.
Do you find yourself gravitating towards the tranquil embrace of the beach or the serene allure of a pool? This question often sparks engaging conversations among guests and owners at The Regent Grand, revealing a spectrum of preferences. While some revel in the versatility of enjoying both settings, others have a steadfast affinity for the pool’s tranquil waters.
Our pool, set against the backdrop of white powder sands from a beach acclaimed as the “World’s Best,” offers an irresistible charm. Its design is nothing short of spectacular, with an infinity edge that seems to merge into the horizon. The pool is equipped with sophisticated heaters, ensuring the water remains at a welcoming 84 degrees, complemented by hot tubs at the ideal temperatures of 102 and 98 degrees. This creates an environment that’s as soothing as it is invigorating. It’s always tempting for me as I walk past during work hours.
Adjacent to this aquatic haven is the poolside bar, where the striking mosaic tiles catch the eye. These tiles, a hallmark of luxury, stand out among the resorts dotting Grace Bay Beach. Their vibrant colours shine under the sun, creating a mesmerizing contrast that beckons you from the comfort of your chaise lounge. It’s really quite spectacular, especially with the new renovations.
Pool or beach, either can give you the peaceful feeling you desire, or the lively social atmosphere you might crave. The vivid colour contrasts in and around the pool captivate your attention, allowing for moments of contemplation or conversation about whether to indulge in the beach’s natural beauty or remain by the pool’s sparkling waters, and of course, the nearby bar service.
In the debate between beach and pool, I find a balance between both to be the ultimate luxury.
