Caribbean hot spot of the moment, home to the best beach in the world.
More praise for Turks & Caicos from Canada’s largest daily print Newspaper – Toronto Star: “I wasn’t ready for Turks and Caicos…there’s something almost otherworldly”
People often say to me that it’s hard to capture the beauty and tranquility of Turks and Caicos in words. But travel writer Chris Johns comes close to articulating the emotional and tangible impact the islands have, not only on visitors, but on those of us fortunate enough to live here. Chris recently penned a travel article for the Toronto Star, Canada’s largest daily circulation newspaper, during a stay on Grace Bay Beach. Affluent Canadian and American travellers are among our most frequent visitors.
There is one particularly compelling section of his travel experience that I wanted to share with you:
“I’ve travelled across a few of the Caribbean’s roughly 3 million square kilometres and love many of the islands for different reasons, but the quality of water around Turks and Caicos remains among the most beautiful I’ve seen outside of French Polynesia. There’s something almost otherworldly about the way the light plays off the clear water here: the colours shifting from turquoise to emerald to an almost incandescent azure, everything framed by the softest coconut palm-shaded beaches.”
Having the title of “World’s Best Beach” is an impressive and appealing draw for luxury travellers who enjoy the finest of accommodations, amenities, foods and libations offered in TCI. But it’s always satisfying to see when a seasoned travel writer is staggered by the natural beauty of our islands.
Beyond the pristine beaches and world-renowned waters, what truly captivates those who visit, and those who call these islands home, is the warmth, culture, and hospitality of the local community. It’s a unique combination of natural beauty and genuine human connection that elevates a stay in Turks and Caicos from a simple vacation to a transformative journey.
Just ask Chris.
